About

The North of Canada Brass Quintet was founded in 2016 in by Rory Powell, Bob Mobley, Suzanne Powell, Andrew Wrobel, and Casey Rakowski. Friends who share a mutual passion for making music, the members combine for more than 50 years of performance experience in southeast Michigan.

The name North of Canada is a play on the geographic quirk that Detroit is the only major U.S. city where you can drive due south and end up in Canada.

In addition to music, the group shares a common love of puns, charcuterie and wine.
